Maple Pecan Mini Tarts


3 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup flour
3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 TB butter, melted
1/8 tsp salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans


In a mixer beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add flour and cinnamon until blended. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Divide dough into 24 pieces and shape into a lightly greased mini muffin tin. Then mix the filling. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, salt and egg in a bowl until blended. Add the pecans. Spoon this filling into each pastry shell. Bake for 25 minutes, or until set. Cool slightly and then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack. Makes 2 dozen.
