Anise Snowballs
User Submitted RecipeItalian Anise Cookies
“
Great for the holidays or anytime of year - I just change the sugar color I sprinkle on them! I make the balls about 1" so they are almost bite sized."
Ingredients
2 sticks of margarine or butter – melted (I use butter)
1 cup of granulated sugar
6 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons of Anise
5 teaspoons of baking powder
5 cups of flour
sprinkle of salt
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together.
Wet hands with warm water, roll small teaspoon size dough into balls
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
For frosting:
Mix in a small shallow bowl confectioners sugar, a few drops of anise and add milk until creamy.
I really never measure this part, but be sure to add the milk slowly as the sugar will get “soupy” very fast.
Sprinkle decorative sugars on the confectioner’s sugar before it dries.
Have Fun!
