Ingredients

3 cups raisins
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/3 cup crisco
4 cups water
2/3 teaspoon of salt

Dry ingredients are:
2 teaspoons of soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 cups of flour

Instructions

cook and boil in a large pan all of the above for approx 3 min then cool this mixture and then add all dry ingredients. mix well. then pour into an greased and floured pan 9x13 and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 min. to test for done use an toothpick inserted in middle of the cake.
