Gingersnap Apple Crisp
User Submitted Recipe
“
Everyone knows what Apple Crisp is, but this is a twist with a spicy topping. Topped with vanilla ice cream its a real treat"
Ingredients
Fill a 9 X 9 baking dish with apples, this is how many you will need for this recipe.
First peel, core and slice the apples into the dish and set aside for the topping.
Next:
1 cup sugar
¾ cup flour
1 Tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 stick minus one tablespoon of butter (softened)
1 Tablespoon of molasses
Salt (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine all ingredients except the butter/margarine. Make sure they are well blended.
Cut in the butter and molasses until the mixture is crumbly. If the butter is too soft, the mixture will be mushy and won’t crumble. Be careful it is NOT TOO SOFT.
Crumble the crumb mixture on top of the apples. Bake in oven 350° for 45min.
