Tastes like the ones my mom made!"


2 cans of apple pie filling

1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ cup brown sugar

½ teaspoon allspice

½ teaspoon nutmeg


2 cups self-rising flour

1/4 cup shortening

¾ cup milk

Additional flour for kneading


Cut shortening into flour, add milk, and knead until dough is of biscuit-like consistency. Take ¼ cup dough, roll out ½ inch thick, and place two tablespoons of filling into center. Fold over and crimp edges with fork. Fry in iron skillet filled with ¼ inch of crisco. Fry until brown, then turn…serve hot!
