Plum Cake

Large cake, using fresh plums. "


2 lbs. plums
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup oil


Cut plums in half. Remove pit and slice into wedges or halve, depending on size of plum.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Set aside.
Beat eggs with remaining sugar, add oil, juice, and vanilla and beat together. Add flour, baking powder and salt which has been sifted together. Mix all together.
Grease and flour 12 cup Bundt pan. Add 1/3 batter, plums on top, 1/3 more batter. more plums and end with rest of the batter and remaining plums on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes. When cake is cool remove from pan onto plate. Turn over onto another plate so that plums are on top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
