Going Courting Blackberry Dumplings Alamode
User Submitted Recipe
“
This is wonderful warm fresh berries and homemade dumplings topped off with ice cream. Nothing beats sitting on your porch on a summer night with your loved ones and this dessert. This is so simple to make and the flavor that fills the house is out of this world. I swear you can taste it in the air. This is what I call a love. You can use any kind of berry you like. Enjoy ya'll "
Ingredients
8 c. Fresh Blackberries
2 ½ c. sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. kosher salt
2 c. original Bisquick
2/3 c. of milk
Ice cream (any kind I love vanilla)
Instructions
In a large heavy bottom pot place blackberries, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt. Cook on a medium high heat stirring often for about 40 minutes to one hour or until berries thicken. Then in a bowl mix bisquick and milk together stir until it makes soft dough. Then drop tablespoons of dough into the boiling blackberry pot. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes then cover and cook for another 10 minutes. Serve dumplings and berries in a bowl with a big scoop of ice cream.
