7-Up Cake

This is a delicious most cake which I usually glaze with a lemon glaze."

Ingredients

3 sticks of butter
2 1/2 cups sugar
4 cups cake flour
4 tsp baking powder
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
2 tsp lemon flavoring
1 1/2 cup 7up


Instructions

Soften butter. Cream sugar with butter thoroughly. Add baking powder to cake flour. Add cake flour mixture to creamed butter/sugar in thirds. After each third of cake flour, add third of 7-up and beat. Add eggs. To cut down on overbeating, add two eggs at a time and beat into batter, add the last egg and beat into batter. Pour into pound cake pan and cook in preheated oven at 300 degrees for 2 hours or until done.
