Sugar and Chai Cutout cookies

Great cookie for tea time."

Ingredients

Stick and a half of butter
3/4 cups of sugar
1 tsp of baking powder
Pinch of salt
One large egg
1 tsp of vanilla
2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp of ground cardamom
1 tsp of ginger
1tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ground cloves
2 tbsp of brewed chai tea


Instructions

Cream together butter, sugar, baking powder, and salt with a hand mixer. Beat egg and vanilla and chai tea. Add spices and one cup of flour and beat with hand mixer. Stir in the remaining flour with a wooden spoon. Cover and chill dough for one hour. Roll half the dough at a time to about 1/8 inch thick. (Can be made thicker if you like) Use a pleasing shaped cookie cutter, place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 oven for 8-10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Frosted cookies are optional.
