Mint Patties CandyUser Submitted Recipe
1 package, 8 oz. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temp
1 tsp. Peppermint extract
8 - 9 cups powdered sugar
Mix the cream cheese and extract together and slowly add the powdered sugar till mixture is very thick and stiff. Roll into 1" balls, or bigger if desired, then place them on waxed paper covered cookie sheet. Press each ball with the palm of your hand to flatten. Cover. Refrigerate 1 - 2 hours.
In a microwave safe dish, mix ¾ cups semi sweet chocolate chips and ¾ cups milk chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons of shortening. Melt at 50% power for a minute, stir, then continue to heat till totally melted and smooth in texture. Cool slightly.
Drop the mint patties in the chocolate to cover, place them back on the waxed paper, refrigerate to set. Keep refrigerated.
