Smooth Jazz Frosted Spice CakeUser Submitted Recipe
Prepare your favorite spice cake. Bake it and cool well before frosting with "Smooth Jazz Frosting" (below):
1/2 cup butter or margarine;
1/4 teaspoon salt;
1 box (4 1/2 cups)powdered sugar;
1 jar (4 oz) pureed prunes***(baby food);
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice;
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon;
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
With Cuisinart electric mixer, stir butter and salt until soft and creamy. Add powdered sugar gradually, alternating with prunes and lemon juice. Beat until smooth after each addition. Add cinnamon and vanilla and beat again. Spread on completely cooled cake.
