Bagel Burgers

Right for Brunch
These are wildly tasty."


2 lbs. ground meat
4 slices fresh white bread
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
1 Tbl. oregano
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 Tbl. crushed red pepper
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
4 ounces roasted red pepper strips chopped
8 onion bagels


Tear up slices of white bread into Cuisinart food processor or Cuisinart blender and pulse into crumbs with all of the spices. Mix ground meat with seasoned bread crumbs & egg. Form into 8 quarter pound patties. Broil or grill hamburgers flipping to brown evenly until internal temperature of 160 degrees. Blend the cream cheese with drained roasted red pepper. Lightly toast bagels. Place burger on bottom of bagel and scoop 1 ounce of cream cheese mixture on top of burger and top with other half of bagel.
