Whole Wheat Beer Bread
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 2/3 cups bread flour
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/4 stick butter
12 oz bottle of GOOD beer
1 package yeast (2 teaspoons)
Bring the beer to room temperature and mix all ingredients in a mixer for 2 minutes at low speed. Once the ingredients are well mixed substitute the dough hook and knead for an additional 5 minutes.
Let the dough rise for one hour or until it doubles. Remove from the mixing pan and shape into a ball and place on a lightly greased (or corn meal covered) cookie sheet. Let rise for 45 minutes to one hour
Preheat over to 400 degrees. Cut diagonal lines across the dough and place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
