Quick cinnamon rollsUser Submitted Recipe
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 packages quick rising yeast
6 Tablespoons sugar
6 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups all purpose flour
1 stick butter (not margarine)
3/4 cup sugar
Cinnamon to cover the rolled out dough
1 cup powdered sugar
Dash of Vanilla (with enough water or milk to make a glaze)
Mix water and yeast in a large bowl, and add sugar and mix until dissolved.
Allow to proof for about five minutes to make sure the yeast is alive
Add oil and salt and mix, and then add flour a cup at a time. Mix for about 3 minutes or until there are no lumps (note: dough will be a little sticky)
Turn onto floured surface and roll out to about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter all over, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top
Roll up and cut into 12 rolls
Butter into rectangular cake pan and place so they are not touching
Cover and put in a draft free place for 30 minutes
Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes reduce heat to 350 and bake for approximately 10 additional minutes until the sugar and butter have caramelized to a light brown.
Make the glaze and drizzle over while hot. Remove before the sugar starts to harden.
