Berry "Bubblegum" Smoothie
User Submitted Recipe
“
My mom made these as an afternoon snack and they are quite refreshing (as part of a breakfast, too!). When she called it a "Bubblegum Smoothie," I was a little uncertain, but I soon found that it had nothing to do with bubblegum. I kept the name in the title, since having the word bubblegum adds a touch of whimsy to the healthy-in-disguise berry smoothie. The spinach is virtually undetectable and gives you a serving of your leafy green vegetables. Bring on the vitamins, sweet berry treat, and smiles. Not only will you feel good about yourself for eating your vegetables, but you'll be berry-boosted into your day!"
Ingredients
1/4 cup orange juice
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup water
1/2 banana
1 cup frozen mixed berries
Instructions
Add orange juice and spinach to your blender. Process until spinach blends into OJ, creating a swamp-creature-green colored mixture. Add 1/2 banana and blend until smooth. Add water and frozen berries to give it the right ice cold consistency required for a delicious smoothie. Blend on "ice crusher" feature until berries are obliterated. Serve with a straw and a smile.
