Kate's Bodacious Bean Dip

This bean dip is quick and easy, and uses many items that you will already have on hand. It is filling, makes great leftovers, and easy to serve."

Ingredients

2 16oz. cans refried beans
2 15oz. cans black beans, rinsed
3 cloves of garlic
1 tsp black pepper
hot sauce to taste

Top Layer
1 pint sour cream
1 jar 16oz. salsa
2 pkgs (8oz. each) shredded cheese, monterey jack and cheddar work great

Toppings
shredded lettuce
diced tomato
jalapenos

Tortilla Chips to dip!


Instructions

Put the refried beans, black beans, garlic, pepper and hot sauce in a microwave safe dish Microwave on medium until heated through, about 4-5 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Transfer this mixture to an oven safe pan (9x13 pyrex works great). Layer on top the sour cream, salsa, and top with shredded cheese. Bake in the oven at 350 until cheese is hot and bubbly, about 25-30 minutes. After serving, top with lettuce, tomatoes and jalapenos, if desired. Serve with Tortilla chips, scoops work great.
