Memorial Day is tomorrow and many of us are looking forward to having the day off, spending time with friends and family and last but not least, tasting the flavors of the grill. One of our grilling favorites is steak, but how do you choose the best cut for your backyard barbecue? We've got you covered with our top three cuts to put on the grill.
Strip Steaks are known for their strong aromas that are sure to make your grilling experience even more pleasurable. They come from the center of the loin and are very silky and flavorful.
Porterhouse Steaks are one of the most popular cuts. They are very large, like the T-Bone’s bigger cousin, but they are far more tender.
Because of the tender texture and intense flavors of the Strip and Porterhouse steaks, they don’t require marinating. The best ways to cook these steaks are to rub some sea salt, olive oil and black pepper on them 15 minutes before you put them on the grill.
Lastly, the skirt steak is another one of our grilling favorites. You may know them from being in fajitas and other Latin dishes. They are long and flat cuts. Although the skirt steak is flavorful, it can be tough so it’s best to marinate them overnight. Marinades usually consist of a strong acid as its foundation, a fat to keep it moist and various seasoning to give it flavor.
