Wonderful Outdoor Weddings

Especially during the Spring and Summer months, outdoor weddings capture all of nature’s beauty. Pulling together the right outdoor wedding takes times and attention to detail. From the location, to the lighting (and the weather, of course!), Cuisinart is here to help you plan the perfect love-filled day.

Location

Choosing the perfect location is important! Will you have the wedding at the beach, garden, or right in your own backyard? These are all very different places and different elements must be considered. For example, if you are having you wedding ceremony on the beach, consider placing walkways on the sand for your guests.

Lighting

Lighting is essential to an outdoor wedding. A great way to create a romantic ambiance is to add candles and chandlers around the tables during the reception. You can also use string lights and lanterns to help lighten up the venue.  However, please use caution when choosing and placing lighting throughout your venue. If you are unsure about any lighting, please contact your wedding planner or venue manager for assistance and guidelines.

Guest Activities

Having an outdoor wedding means so much extra space. Use this to your advantage and add fun additions to your reception! We love the idea of a carnival themed venue with cotton candy machines and ice cream stands. For a little extra excitement, set up a 360-degree photo booth or games for children (and adults too!)

Table Setting

For your outdoor wedding, it is best to set up tents or canopies around the seating area. This will block out the sun or any unexpected weather changes. For a Springtime wedding, chose a light color pallet. Table clothes and linens can be in pastel shades of pink or peach. You may also want to consider table style and seating. For a garden wedding, you can have picnic style tables and benches with colorful seat cushions.

Menu and Favors

Since the reception is going to be outdoors, you want to make sure that the caterer has enough space to prepare and properly store food to prevent spoilage. For a Spring outdoor wedding, incorporate seasonal flavors into your menu!  Fruity flavors and light appetizers are great options! You can also offer guests fruit spritzers, freshly squeezed lemonade, and flavored water. For more meal ideas, visit our Spring Wedding Menu Guide!

With so many options, planning an outdoor wedding is simply fun and exciting! Cuisinart wishes you all the best on your wedding day and the bright next chapter of your life!
