French toast is a breakfast staple that's so easy to make, anyone can enjoy them at their leisure! It may not seem like the most baby-friendly option for your baby but we’ve made some changes to this classic dish.
Because babies under 12 months old should avoid egg whites and milk, our recipe replaces the two with egg yolks and baby formula/breast milk. Just because their little tummies can only handle so many different types of food at their age doesn't mean they can't enjoy French toast! With a few modifications here and there, this recipe will have your baby screaming for me.
French Toast Sticks
Makes 6 sticks
1 slice of whole wheat bread (avoid bread with
honey or egg products)
1 egg yolk
1/8 cup of baby formula/breast milk
1/2 ripe banana
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Put banana, milk, egg yolk, and cinnamon in a blender and blend until smooth. Cut bread into 6 even pieces. Coat each piece with the egg mixture, and then cook on a lightly greased pan over medium-low heat for roughly 2-3 minutes on each side.
