Banana-Pear


Ingredients

3 medium pears, approximately 1-1/2 pounds or 3 cups cubed, peeled, cored, and cubed
1 banana, broken into 1-inch pieces

Instructions

Place pear cubes in a steamer basket to fit a 3- to 4-quart saucepan filled with one inch of water (or unsweetened apple juice). Place a tight fitting lid on pan and place over high heat. When liquid comes to a boil turn heat down to medium. Steam pears for 15 minutes, until extremely soft. Place steamed pear and banana in the work bowl of Cuisinart® food processor fitted with metal chopping blade. Process for 30 seconds. Scrape work bowl. Process for 20 more seconds.
Allow mixture to cool. Use immediately, store in airtight container for up to 3 days or fill ice cube trays or other containers to freeze.
