Makes twenty 1-ounce servings
Ingredients
2-1/2 pounds pears (bartlett), approx. 6 medium pears, peeled, cored and cubed
Instructions
Place pear cubes in a steamer basket to fit a 3- to 4-quart saucepan filled with one inch of water (or unsweetened apple juice). Place a tight fi tting lid on pan and place over high heat. When liquid comes to a boil turn heat down to medium. Steam fruit for 15 minutes, until extremely soft.
Place steamed fruit in the work bowl of Cuisinart® food processor fitted with metal chopping blade. Process for 15 to 20 seconds. Scrape work bowl. Process for 10 more seconds.
Allow mixture to cool. Store in refrigerator in airtight container for up to 3 days or fill ice cube trays or other 1-ounce containers to freeze.
