Makes twelve 1-ounce servings
Ingredients
3 cups (approx. 1lb) fresh green beans, ends trimmed, any visible strings removed
Instructions
Place green beans in a steamer basket to be placed in a 3- or 4-quart saucepan filled with an inch of water. Place the pan with a tight fitting lid over high heat. Once the water comes to a boil reduce the heat to medium. Steam green beans for about 20 to 25 minutes until they are completely soft.
Place steamed green beans in work bowl fitted with the metal chopping blade. Process beans for about 30 seconds. Scrape work bowl. Process for an additional 30 seconds adding 1 tablespoon of cooking liquid at a time to achieve desired consistency.
Allow mixture to cool. Store in refrigerator in airtight container or fill ice cube trays or other 1-ounce containers to freeze.
