As a parent, making sure your baby is eating the right foods is very important. With all of the different kinds of processed foods out there, it is hard to really nail down exactly what goes into the food your child eats. One way to go about this is to introduce all natural foods into your child's diet, and one of the best we recommend is brown rice. You should start giving your child brown rice starting at around six months. Brown rice cereal in particular is the perfect texture for a baby and will get them eating healthy from an early age.
Brown rice is a great source of nutrition, and unlike white rice cereals, the brown rice itself does not get processed. It contains large amounts of potassium, magnesium, and phosphorous. Brown rice is also rich in anti-oxidants, high in fiber, and contains oils that will help stabilize the baby’s cholesterol levels. Perhaps most importantly, it makes the perfect baby food. Babies need to eat food filled with nutrients and fiber in order to keep up with their very fast growth cycles.
There are a few ways to get your baby into eating brown rice, but perhaps the best option, is to make homemade cereal. Here is how to make this delicious food for your bouncing baby:
Brown Rice Cereal
1/2 brown rice
1/2 cup water
Ground brown rice in a blender or food processor. Bring water to a boil and add rice while stirring. Whisk constantly for 30 seconds and then occasionally for 4-5 minutes until thick.
