Every couple wants to do something memorable that will impress their wedding guests and have them talking for years to come. One way to accomplish this is to break the basic wedding traditions and do something unexpected! Here’s an idea, why not toss the wedding cake and try a fun alternative? This will not only surprise your guests, but give you yet another way to show off your style and flair as a couple. All you’ll need is a stand to make the alternative idea look as elegant as a cake would. To get your creative juices flowing, we’ve created a list of four wedding cake alternative ideas below:
Doughnuts are a common craving for people who love sweets. All the more reason to have a doughnut stand as your dessert of choice! There are many ways to up the elegance of this option such as matching the color scheme or flavors to the overall theme of the wedding or allowing the guests to choose from an array of gourmet flavors.
If you don’t want to stray too far away from the traditional cake you may want to try the cake pop options. They say everything tastes better on a stick and the same goes for cake! This is not only cute and quirky but every guest has a sweet, individually decorated treat to call their own.
Add a French touch to your wedding by swapping out your wedding cake with a crepe cake. This would be amazing for a French inspired wedding or a destination wedding in France. This option can even be made to look very similar to a traditional wedding cake if desired.
A pie table or stand can be a great alternative, providing a more affordable, family style dessert for your guests. You can match pies to your wedding theme in many ways. For example, if you’re having a southern wedding a pecan pie would be lovely. Pies are also a nice touch if you’ve decided on a rustic theme.
Let your imagination run wild and make your wedding as memorable as can be! Macaroons, candy bars, cheesecakes or another option may be a better fit for you and your significant other. What are some of your ideas?
