CUISINART SPONSORS HUBERT KELLER: SECRETS OF A CHEF,
A NEW SERIES AIRING
ON PUBLIC TELEVISION
Thirteen-part Series
Set to Unlock the Secrets
Behind Keller’s
Cooking Techniques and Signature Recipes
STAMFORD,
CT–Underscoring its ongoing commitment to culinary education, Cuisinart will
sponsor Hubert Keller: Secrets of a Chef*,
the new series airing on public television which is dedicated to demystifying
important cooking techniques essential to good cooking. The show will be hosted
by Hubert Keller, the award-winning chef-owner of the renowned Fleur de Lys
restaurant in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and will debut in April on public television stations nationwide.
Filmed on
location in a vineyard kitchen in northern California and Las Vegas, Hubert Keller: Secrets of a Chef
will explore the many places Keller has lived and their influence on his multi-national
cuisine. The 13-part series will
showcase the legendary soups and stews of Keller’s native Alsace, France; the
bold, exciting flavors of San Paulo, Brazil; offer a taste of the San Francisco
culinary revolution; and take viewers inside the famous Burger Bar restaurant (where
Keller is executive chef and owner) at Mandalay Place in Las Vegas.
Hubert Keller: Secrets of a Chef is Keller’s first television
series. In each episode, he will transform one of his signature dishes into an
easy-to-follow recipe for home cooks, using a variety of professional-quality
culinary products from Cuisinart. Each program will focus on one special
ingredient, offering home chefs various pointers about the best way to prepare
and cook the dishes.
In the
first episode, Keller will highlight the versatility of flavors in peppers and
prepare two main dishes inspired by the south of France, along with a lamb burger infused
with warm Mediterranean flavors and topped with a savory red pepper relish. There
is also a burger recipe in every show, a testament to the new concept of burger
dining Keller pioneered at his Burger Bar restaurant.
Mary
Rodgers, Director of Marketing Communications for Cuisinart, says, “We see our
partnership with Hubert Keller as a natural fit based on our shared commitment
to excellence. Just as Chef Keller is
committed to providing guests with the ultimate dining experience, we are dedicated
to offering consumers superior products.” She adds that Keller is a “master
teacher whose warmth and down-to-earth cooking style will make challenging
culinary tasks less intimidating and captivate novice and advanced home chefs
alike.”
Keller’s
commitment to healthy, flavorful cuisine led him to create a six-course
vegetarian meal at Fleur de Lys, considered to be one of the best restaurants
in the nation. Keller was named one of
the “10 Best Chefs in America” by Food and Wine magazine. He
is the author of Hubert Keller’s Cuisine
and a contributor to Dean Ornish’s Eat
More, Weigh Less. Keller also has the
distinguished honor of being the first guest chef in history to be invited to
cook at the White House for former President Clinton and his family.
