Pressure cookers are designed to trap steam which creates pressure, and in turn raises the internal temperature in the pot up to 70% quicker than conventional cooking. In addition to their timesaving benefits, pressure cookers provide additional nutritional benefits as well. This type of cooking preserves valuable vitamins and minerals, since a limited quantity of liquid is required for cooking and the product’s tightly sealed lid prevents water soluble vitamins and minerals from boiling away. The Electric Pressure Cooker is a 1000-watt, 6-quart, stainless steel pot with a lock-on lid that forms an airtight seal. The Electric Pressure Cooker features variable pressure and temperature settings.  It also has Browning, Simmer and Sauté functions for preparing everything from roasts, stews and vegetables to cheesecake and custard, as well as an automatic Keep Warm setting.

Safety:
Unlike pressure cookers of the past, the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker is designed with numerous safety features. It has a lid that must be locked in place before pressure builds, and stays locked until pressure is released. In addition, the pressure cooker has a pressure limit valve that automatically releases air when the pressure inside exceeds the preset temperature. An anti-block cover prevents any food material from blocking the pressure limit valve, ensuring it remains operational at all times. In addition, when the pressure cooker reaches the maximum allowable pressure and temperature, the cooking pot will move down until the lid separates from the sealing ring, releasing air pressure. An added benefit is the fact that the power will automatically shut off when the cooking pot temperature reaches the preset value or if the pressure cooker is heating without any food inside. The Electric Pressure Cooker also has cool-touch handles.

The Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker offers several convenience features, including an easy-to-read digital thermostat that ensures accuracy and convenient push button controls that allow home chefs to choose from a variety of cooking options and programmed settings, such as:  Low & High Pressure, Browning, Simmer, Sauté and automatic Keep Warm. The Electric Pressure Cooker also has a 99-minute timer and LED countdown display, which goes from 0-40 minutes in one-minute increments and from 40-99 minutes in five-minute increments. The brushed stainless steel housing is fingerprint-proof and the nonstick cooking pot and trivet are dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.
