Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle
Stamford, CT - March 2006 Food for Thought:
How to Make a Perfect Cup of Tea:
1. Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water.
2. Place an infuser with loose tea or tea bag(s) in a ceramic pot or cup.
3. Wait for the kettle to “click” off and immediately pour the boiling water onto the tea.
4. Steep for three to five minutes, depending on the strength preferred. The longer it steeps, the stronger it is. For iced tea, brew tea double-strength (steep twice as long) and pour over ice.
What to Look for When Purchasing an Electric Kettle:
The Cuisinart Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle (model no. RK-17) makes the simple and common task of boiling water easier, faster and more energy efficient. With 1500 watts of power and a generous 1 ¾ quart capacity, the kettle quickly brings water to a boil for use in hot beverages like tea, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as a variety of other favorites like hot cereal and instant soup, pasta and rice. The one-touch on/off switch is simple to operate – just depress the switch until a click is heard to start the boiling process. An indicator light illuminates when the kettle is on. Other product benefits include a dripless pour spout with splash guard and a concealed heating element that prevents calcium buildup.
A key benefit of the Cuisinart kettle is the automatic shutoff feature, which is activated once the water has boiled or when the kettle is removed from the power base. The non-slip, stay-cool handle is ergonomically shaped for comfort and locks into an upright position for pouring. The handle also has the option to fold down to either side when removing the lid.
The Cuisinart Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle has a polished stainless steel finish with an elegant design that makes a great complement to any table setting.
In addition to the Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle, Cuisinart offers two other electric kettles with contemporary design features. The Cuisinart Cordless Electric Jug Kettle (model no. CJK-17BC) has a brushed stainless exterior finish and the Cuisinart Electric Kettle (model no. KUA-17) has a classic tea kettle design with a polished stainless steel exterior. Both products also have a 1 ¾ quart capacity.
