Cuisinart and Bevyz Sign Agreement to Market Premium Multi-Drink System

STAMFORD, CT, and SLIEMA, Malta, March 24, 2014 — Cuisinart, a dominant leader in kitchen electrics and Bevyz, manufacturer of the world’s only Multi-Drink System, announced today that they will enter into a distribution partnership to market and sell the ‘Cuisinart powered by Bevyz’ Multi-Drink System. This innovative new system provides single serve hot or cold, still or sparkling beverages on demand, all dispensed from one compact countertop appliance. The flavor capsules used to create these beverages are equipped with sensors that activate the machine’s precision dispensing mechanism, which delivers hot or iced tea, hot chocolate, coffee, juice, sodas, cocktails, soups, sparkling water, and more in seconds. The system’s internal boiler, carbonator and cooling system allow instant transition from hot to cold to carbonation and vice versa, a feat that has never before been possible in any home beverage maker.

The partnership will leverage Cuisinart’s marketing expertise and leading position in the housewares industry and align it with Bevyz’ category-disrupting technology. The ‘Cuisinart by Bevyz’ Multi-Drink System was successfully introduced at the 2014 International Home + Housewares Show and will be distributed through Cuisinart’s retail channels, encompassing department and specialty stores and online segments.

“This is an exciting and innovative expansion for Cuisinart in the beverage maker category,” said Ron Diamond, President of Conair Corporation, Cuisinart’s parent company. “At-home beverage makers have been consistently gaining in popularity and market share over the past several years, and the introduction of this product represents a significant leap forward in the technology and convenience available in the category. We are proud to bring this to the market and believe it will resonate very strongly with consumers.”

Edouard Sterngold, Founder & CEO of Bevyz, said, “We are delighted to introduce our at-home Multi-Drink System to the North American market. Cuisinart has the experience and proficiency to grow and maintain sales in this category, and by partnering with them, we are confident that we will share in the success of one of the country’s most respected and trusted housewares brands.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Cuisinart will market and sell the Bevyz-developed Multi-Drink System and related accessories in North America.

Other terms and conditions of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.

About Bevyz: The Bevyz management team has a long history in creating great-tasting drinks and beverage systems. The aim with Bevyz is to continuously make consumers’ drink experience better – by creating innovative, yet easy-to-use, single-serve capsule systems that dispense a limitless variety of premium beverages for every drink-moment of the day. This is why the company works only with world-renowned partners. Bevyz derives its name from various historic words, including “bevey” from the Middle English, meaning a large group or collection. Also, the Old French “beivre” and the Latin “bibere” meaning “to drink.” Modern English usage sees “bevy” as “a lot of” (particularly ‘a bevy of beauties’) and bevvy as a shortened form of beverage. The use of “z” reflects the infinite number of beverage choices available with the Bevyz system. BEVYZ® is a registered trademark of MDS Global Holding Plc.
